2006 Carnuntum trocken Rubin Carnuntum, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Partly preserved red berries on the nose, chocolate and some roasted notes. Slightly stalky and herbaceous red berry fruit and some cherries on the palate, spicy oak, crisp in a slightly rustic style, slightly prominent tannins, attractive finish.

Editor note: Straightforward cranberry fruit on the nose, light vegetal and delicate mineral notes, hint of tobacco and some bread. More clear fruit of preserved cranberries on the palate, with a hint of tart herbaceous and mienral traces, more bread, slightly warm softish and sweet, but still has some backbone, integrated and slightly astringent tannins, slightly astringent again on a good finish.
