2003 Süd-Steiermark Ried Sgaminegg trocken, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Shy, tranquil nose, delicate oak, fairly complex yellow fruit with light nutty notes, some mineral notes develop with aeration. Initially gentle with sweetish oaky notes on the palate, noticeable alcohol, in fact quite fiery, thus does not show what substance it actually has, with aeration becomes increasingly more integrated, handles the alcohol and reveals more substance and depth, creamy, light bitter-sweet notes on the finish. A wine that should develop for decades, although the direction and style of development is difficult to foresee.
