2009 Heimersheim Burggarten Spätburgunder Großes Gewächs, B52, Ahr, Germany

Tart, reddish and black berry aromas reminiscent of root vegetables and a woody scent with cabbage notes. Strong in the mouth, ripe, partly dried dark fruit, some plum-cherries, woody and spicy aromas, herbs and licorice, fairly greasy oak, persistent on the palate, firm structure and very good substance, noticeable sooty and earthy notes, salty mineral notes , lots of strength and alcohol, bitter spice, some depth, very good, juicy, slightly greasy and rustic finish.

Editor note: Tart, smoky-tobacco and also bacon-like nose, black berries, earthy notes, hint of flesh, aromas of green beans, some pepper, nougat and fairly prominent mineral notes. Strong, dense and slightly jammy in the mouth, very ripe fruit, sandy tannins, prominent vegetal notes, some asparagus, earthy in the background and slightly mineral, slightly astringent tannins, powerful body, only a little lacking in contours and freshness Sweetish and jammy notes, salty mineral notes and herbs, quite well on the palate, quite deep, leaving a good finish on slightly dry woody notes.
