The head office of the vineyard is located in the municipality of Untermagdalena in the province of Bolzano in the Italian wine-growing area South-Tirol (Region Trentino-Alto Adige ). The company consists of the parent company Obermoser and the locations Grafenleiten and Hörtenberg (all in St. Magdalena), and Putz Mauer (Kalterersee). The long tradition of the owner family testify to a family crest from 1506 and a complete family tree from then until today. The origin dates back to 1890, when Christian J. Rottensteiner acquired the "Obermosergütl". In 1913, the phylloxera great damage. After the Second World War was carried out by Franz JM Rottensteiner a reconstruction. From the 1980s, the company was taken over by Heinrich Rottensteiner. Thomas Rottensteiner is now the fifth generation of the family in the winery.

Every year around 30,000 bottles of wine are produced.
