2014 Mittelheim St.Nikolaus Riesling Grosses Gewächs trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Very firm, deep, complex nose, yellow spice and some vegetal notes, ripe, partly candied yellow fruit, floral aromas, mustard, curcuma and some pepper, intense mineral notes. Firm, ripe, tart juicy fruit on the palate, prominent vegetal aromas, lots of yellow spice, and tremendous earthy and intensely salty mineral notes, touch of tobacco in the background, hint of hot mustard cucumbers, yeasty notes, concentrated, deep and complex, hint of honey in the background, prominent tannic grip, complex, very much its own character, some sugar candy in the background, compelling, well integrated on the one hand, but also has gripping, compelling elements, still undeveloped, slightly sweetish on a long finish.
