The estate is located in the municipality of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler in the German wine-growing region Ahr
, It was founded in 1952 by Peter Kriechel, until then a member of a winegrowers' cooperative, with a cultivated area of 1.5 hectares. In 1969 he handed over the business to his sons Hermann and Ernst, who continuously expanded the area to today's size. Today the family business is one of the largest private wineries in the Ahr Valley. In addition to Ernst Kriechel with his sons Markus and Michael and their cousin Gerd Kriechel, the third generation has been active since 2003. The vineyards cover 20 hectares of vineyards in the locations Forstberg
and Steinkaul (Ahrweiler), Kräuterberg
(Walporzheim), as well Schieferlay

They are 85% with the red varieties Pinot Noir (47%), Pinot Noir (15%), Portuguese (7%), Dornfelder (6%), Regent (4%), Domina (4%) and others, as well as 15% planted with the white varieties Müller-Thurgau (6%), Riesling (3%), Pinot Gris, Optima, Kerner, Würzer, Bacchus and Pinot Blanc.
