2016 Neuenahr Sonnenberg Spätburgunder trocken R, Ahr, Germany

Hint of tobacco and light herbaceous notes on the nose, black and red berries and a few cherries, earthy and mineral notes. Partly preserved, fairly dark fruit on the palate, nuttys oak and a touch of dark chocolate, integrates, slightly astringent tannins, noticeable warm alcohol, slightly jammy, not particularly deep, floral traces, good to very good, fairly soft finish.
