2005 Süd-Steiermark Ried Kranachberg Sauvignon Blanc trocken Kranachberg Reserve, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Pomaceous fruit and some green berries on the nose, grassy and herbaceous notes, bell peppers and some white pepper, also a touch of honey and spicy oak. Very full-bodied and creamy on the palate, prominent oak, polished fruit, elegant acidity, coconut and some pecan nut, not particularly deep, noticeable alcohol, together with oak carries through to an otherwise good finish.

Editor note: Tart spicy oak on the nose, citrus fruit, green berries and some pomaceous fruit, cool herbaceous and light peppery notes, some mineral traces. Clear on the palate, elegant and juicy, creamy fruit, elegant, quite lively acidity, mineral notes, prominent and again rather tart oak, good persistence, noticeable alcohol, quite complex on a very good finish.

Editor note: Green beans and peas on the nose, hint of honeydew melon and mealy pomaceous fruit, peppery and mineral notes, spicy oak. Tranquil on the palate, creamy, spicy oak, sweetish fruit, herbs and spices, very elegant acidity, full-bodied, fairly persistent, noticeable alcohol on a good finish.
