The winery is located in the municipality of Montan / Montagna in the Italian wine-growing area South-Tirol (Region Trentino-Alto Adige ). The traditional family has been practicing viticulture since 1861. Three generations operate with the following guiding principle: Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, working together leads to success . He is led by Klaus and Monika Pfitscher. In 2011, a new winery was put into operation on the outskirts of the village, where the construction was embedded in nature. From the tasting room you can enjoy a view of the South Tyrolean lowlands and the mountains. The path to the cellar is different in color and ends dark blue in the Blauburgunderkeller.

Winery Pfitscher and South Tyrol Unterland

The vineyards cover 15 hectares of vineyards in the five municipalities Auer, Kurtatsch, Montan, Neumarkt and Völs with different floors in up to 900 meters above sea level. The Tilt is up to 100% (45 °). They are with the white wine varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Bianco ( Pinot Blanc ) Müller-Thurgau. Gewurztraminer and Chardonnay, and the red varieties Pinot Nero ( Pinot Noir ) and Lagrein planted.

The wines are called DOC South Tyrol depending on the type of wine in the steel tank, in or expanded in a large wooden barrel. Then they store a few months in the bottle before marketing some. The top line "Superior" includes the red wines Pinot Nero Fuchsleiten (oak barrel), Pinot Nero Matan Riserva and Lagrein Riserva, the red wine Cuvée Cortazo (every four to 15 months in small and large oak barrels), as well as the white wines Sauvignon Blanc Saxum and Gewürztraminer Rutter (both in steel tanks on the ).
