2008 Mittelburgenland DAC Blaufränkisch Reserve trocken Platinum, Burgenland, Austria

Tart nose, black berries, dried herbs, shiff of smoked bacon and sooty traces, prominent cedary aromas, light meaty and animal traces. Tart, juicy dark fruit on the palate, cocoa, nutty, slightly smoky oak, light earthy notes, hint of black olives and dried herbs, persistent and firm, still quite youthful, polished, hint of coffee and tobacco, dark fruit and prominent spicy oak on a very good finish.

Editor note: Fairly mature nose, light peppery and tart roasted notes, preserved and partly dried black berries and cherry compote, smoke, kicoricice and dried herbs. Fairly tart fruit on the palate, prominent smoky oak, dried herbs and some licorice, tart spicy aromas, good substance and persistence, fairly prominent, very slightly dusty tannins, full-bodied, good persistence, very good finish.
