The estate is located in the municipality of Wolkersdorf 15 kilometers north of Wien in the south of the Lower Austrian wine region Weinviertel, The traditional family has been wine-growing here for 300 years. An ancestor is the composer Ignaz Joseph Pleyel (1757-1831), after whom a red and white wine cuvee series is named. DI Josef Pleil was President of the Austrian Wine Association from 1990 to 2013. He was one of the initiators of the origin-controlled quality level, which was introduced in Austria in 2003 DAC (Weinviertel DAC). After his training in the Klosterneuburg Wine School and internships in renowned wineries in Germany. California. South Africa and Australia led by son Ing. Christian Pleil.

The vineyards cover 18 hectares of vineyards. They are 75% with the white wine varieties Green Valtellina (Main variety with over 45%), Chardonnay. Riesling, Pinot Blanc ( Pinot Blanc ) Sauvignon Blanc and Danube Riesling, as well as 25% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt and Merlot planted. The natural cultivation of the vineyards follows the rules of KIP (Controlled Integrated Production). The white wines are in stainless steel tanks with chilled fermentation expanded to the fruitiness and the varietal character to obtain. The red wines are biodegraded ( malolactic fermentation ) in the large wooden barrel expanded and partly also in stored. The house premium wines are different Weinviertel DAC (Grüner Veltliner), Chardonnay Wienerfeld and Zweigelt Kirchbergen. In weather-appropriate years, even high-grade ones become Prädikatsweine vinified. Around 100,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
