The estate is located in the municipality Wolkersdorf 15 kilometers north of Wien in the south of the Lower Austrian winegrowing area Weinviertel, The traditional family has been growing wine for 300 years. An ancestor is the composer Ignaz Joseph Pleyel (1757-1831), after a red and white wine Cuvée series is named. DI Josef Pleil was President of the Austrian Winegrowing Association from 1990 to 2013.
