2015 Süd-Steiermark Ried Grassnitzberg Sauvignon Blanc Reserve trocken "M", Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Firm, somewhat smoky nose with yellow-fruity, yellow-spicy and dried-grassy notes, tobacco-like wood spice, pointed cabbage, floral nuances and a hint of elderberry. Tart, firm, slightly warm fruit, clearly vegetal, somewhat smoky and slightly yeasty aromas, nutty wood tones, a little bacon and mushrooms on the palate, fine acidity and a lot of grip from crumbly tannin, some protein, chalky and salty in the background, tart floral notes, hints of elderberry, very good, slightly phenolic-covered finish with a hint of cabbage. Not in top form at the moment and very slightly stony. Will it come back? The substance is there, as is the length.
