The winery is located in the municipality of Nierstein (Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. The traditional family has been growing grapes for 300 years. The winery is managed by Stefan Raddeck. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vines in the Nierstein vineyards Heiligenbaum, Orbel, Paterberg and Pettenthal. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Müller-Thurgau, Huxelrebe, Kerner and Scheurebe, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Blauer Portugieser and St. Laurent.
Since 2003, the vineyards have been cultivated according to certified organic viticulture guidelines. These include cover crop for the purpose of stabilising the soil and promoting beneficial insects, as well as dispensing with quick-soluble fertilisers and herbicides. After slow fermentation in steel tanks, the white wines are stored for a long time on the fine yeast. The red wines are matured in large wooden barrels or in barriques after long maceration periods, depending on the type of wine. The wines are marketed in the lines Gutsweine, Edition2Hügel and Edition S. The winery is a member of "Wein vom Roten Hang".
