Rather tart nose of black berries and a few cherries with leathery notes, some dried herbs, restrained, smoky oak notes, hint of juniper, pepper and bacon. Firm, tart dark fruit, smoky, somewhat roasted and hinted at sooty notes, fine sandy, ripe tannins, salt in the background, a hint of liquorice and slightly bitter coffee notes, a certain alcoholic warmth, also a little malt and soup stock, very good, quite firm finish. Already slightly past its prime, but still very good.
