The estate is located in the municipality of Traben-Trarbach (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle, The origins of the traditional company dates back to 1623 with the founding of the "Action and Change Comptoir" by the Böcking family. There was trade in coffee, tea, silk, spices, tobacco and wine, as well as banking. Winegrowing began with the purchase of vineyards in the course of Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) rigorously carried out secularization. It was decided to concentrate on Riesling and the estate gained an excellent reputation. In 1792 Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832) guest with the family and praised the Riesling wine. After ten successful generations, Adolph Böcking died in 1903. After that, valuable locations were lost. The Trarbacher areas remained family-owned, but the quality could not be maintained.

Finally, the Böcking descendants Leweke Freifrau von Marschall, Denman Zirkle and Sigrid Carroll made a new start in 2012. The cellar master responsible is Simon Trös. The vineyards cover almost seven hectares of vineyards in the individual layers of Burgberg, Hühnerberg, Taubenhaus, Schlossberg and Ungsberg (Trarbach). 94% of them are made with Riesling, the rest with Pinot Noir. The management takes place partly according to the guidelines of the Biodynamic viticulture, When it comes to floor care, among other things greening made with different seeds.

The vinification takes place in the traditional way. The squeeze the grapes are made using a pneumatic cloth press and more traditional basket press carried out. In principle, fermentation is carried out with the yeast's own vineyards spontaneous carried out. The wines then ripen in 1,000 liter wooden barrels. The premium wines include the Rieslings “Alte Reben” with the names Burgberg, Schlossberg and Ungersberg. In addition, brandies (pomace, wine), vineyard peach liqueur, Riesling vinegar and organic olive oil (from Crete) are also marketed. The estate is a member of the Generation Riesling and Generation associations Slow food, As a specialty Rebstock sponsorships offered to ensure the preservation of the oldest plots of the steep slopes.
