2016 Bingen Scharlachberg Riesling trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Fairly cool, elegant nose, herbaceous notes, light floral and delicate yeasty notes, citrus and stone fruit, white currants and a hint of cereals. Fairly firm, juicy, slightly sweetish fruit on the palate, tart earthy and salty mineral notes, good persistence and substance, fairly prominent peppery notes, hint of olive oil, traces of cereals again, ripe tannins provide grip, hint of bacon in the background, still young, some depth, very good firm, tart, juicy finish. Still needs some time to mature.
