The estate is located in the municipality of Freinsheim (Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region palatinate, The parents laid the foundations for today's winery with their fruit and wine-growing business until well into the 1990s. The first wines under their own label were marketed in 1993. Junior Steffen Rings joined the company in 2001 and switched to exclusively winegrowing. After his apprenticeship in the Rheinhessen winery Wagner-Stempel Andreas Rings also returned and has been running the winery together with his brother since 2008. The vineyards cover 31 hectares of vineyards in individual locations pig's stomach (Kallstadt), Black Cross (Freinsheim) and Weilberg (Ungstein).
The focus is on Riesling and Pinot Noir. Other types of white wine are Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc, other types of red wine Portugieser, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Quality criteria are strict yield reduction already on the vine, rigorous selection during the harvest and late hand picking. The wines are marketed in the lines of estate wines, local wines, wines from first and large locations as well as a reserve line and red wine cuvées from the “Das Kreuz” series. The winery is a member of the VDP (Association of German quality wine estates). Around 180,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
