2017 Assmannshausen Höllenberg Frühburgunder trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Clear, fairly deep, polished, fairly cool nose, predominantly red and a few black berries, delicate floral and herbaceous aromas, peppery traces, light mineral notes. Ripe, juicy, fairly firm red fruit on the palate, light toasted, smoky oak, ripe tannins provide grip, good substance and persistence, fine tannin grip, peppery traces, mineral notes in the background, still undeveloped, some depth, very good, firm finish. Needs some time to mature.
