The estate is located in the Rödelsee municipality (Steigerwald area) in the German wine-growing region Franconia
, The family has been involved in viticulture for several generations. After a long membership in a cooperative, marketing began in 1983. Roland and Elisabeth Hemberger have been running the business since 1985. The successor is assured, because his son Tobias is completing an apprenticeship as a winegrower just after completing a winemaker apprenticeship. He created a new wine line called “Gradwanderung” with three wines. The vineyards cover 10.5 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Kronsberg
(Iphofen) as well Küchenmeister
and swan Leite
(Rödelsee). They are planted with the white varieties Silvaner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Scheurebe, Kerner, Bacchus, Traminer and Müller-Thurgau, as well as the red varieties Pinot Noir, Domina, Dornfelder, Acolon and Portugieser. A specialty is the white-pressed one Blanc de noirs
from Pinot Noir. In weather-appropriate years there will also be a Eiswein
vinified. Bottle-fermented sparkling wine and Secco (sparkling wine) are also produced.
