2001 Bürgstadt Centgrafenberg Riesling Spätlese trocken "R", Franconia/Franken, Germany

Very densely woven, mineral notes, with herbs, apples, citrus fruits and some peaches. Crystal clear, elegantly juicy fruit, tightly structured, with lively acidity, intense, cool mineral spice on the palate, profound, traces of tobacco in the background, appears unfinished, powerful and with loads of extract, while the acidity and mineral notes make the wine appear lighter than it really is, gripping, tremendous length. Needs time.
