2009 Klingenberg Schloßberg Spätburgunder trocken Großes Gewächs, R, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Fairly firm nose, light nutty and delicate spicy notes, very ripe red and black berries, earthy and light malted notes, hint of black olives. Fairly mature juicy, ripe fruit on the palate, nutty, light spicy and malted notes, lively, elegant acidity, very fine tannins, light toasted notes in the background, cocoa, chestnuts and salty mineral notes, persistent, shows some development, not quite as vibrant and fresh as it was in ity youth, but still impressive, very good juicy finish with light malted notes. Has developed much more quickly than expected.
