2015 Bürgstadt Berg Frühburgunder trocken VDP.Erste Lage, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Cool, polished nose, predominantly red berries, nutty and herbaceous notes, spicy notes of curcuma. Straightforward red fruit on the palate, some spicy oak with smoky notes, fine tannins, prominent rhubarb, good persistence, hint of sugar candy, peppery traces, some sweet chestnut aromas, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, becomes more firm with aeration, salty mineral notes, more toasted notes, chocolate and tobacco, full-bodied, very good finish.
