2015 Bürgstadt Hundsrück Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Firm deep nose, almonds and a hint of tobacco, light toasted notes, ripe red berries, some cassis, hint of leather, peppery spice, earthy notes, light mineral notes in the background. Very concentrated on the palate, juicy, partly preserved ripe fruit, more peppery spice, hint of citrus fruit, lively acidity, smoky and toasted aromas, some fennel in the background, fairly prominent tannins, still largely undeveloped, persistent and deep, hint of bacon, some brioche and more tobacco, very good long, firm, juicy, grippy finish.
