Editor note: Firm, tart, fairly cool nose, elegant nutty, vegetal and herbaceous notes, still slightlyyeasty, light yellow fruit aromas, hint of mushrooms, light oak, prominent mineral notes. Clear, very firmly structured, tart, light fruit on the palate, light smoky, nutty oak, lively acidity, noticeable tannic grip, chalky and salty mineral notes, firm acid bite, persistent, good depth, still undeveloped, grip and bite on a very good, firm finish. Needs time to mature.
Best to drink: 2021-2026+

The German growing area Franconia used to be in the three areas Maindreieck, Mainviereck and Steigerwald with 23 large layers and 216 individual layers. In November 2011 a new regulation was decided by the members of the Franconian Wine Association. The three old areas will be replaced by 12 much smaller ones. In the medium to long term, these will also replace the 23 large locations. The old areas once played a role in the predominant marketing of Franconian table wine, which they had lost for a long time.
