The estate is located in the municipality of Winningen (Burg Cochem area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle
, In the middle of the last century, Werner Kröber made a good name for himself in Winningen as an independent wood beetle. With the advent of plastic tanks, traditional cooper craft became less and less important from the 1960s. The formerly part-time viticulture has now become the main source of income. In 1991 the company was taken over by his son Rüdiger and his wife Ute and from that time two hectares were expanded to today's size by buying steep slopes. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vineyards in the Winninger Lagen Brückstück, Hamm, Röttgen
, They are planted to 94% with Riesling, as well as some Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Noir and Dornfelder. After the harvest, the grapes are processed as gently as possible and without any mechanical stress. Great emphasis is placed on a long and quiet fermentation period. The wines are aged in stainless steel containers as well as in the traditional barrels still made by the father. Bottling usually takes place in the middle of the following year. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, fruit brandies and liqueurs are also produced.
