The estate is located in the municipality of Hammelburg (area triangle) in the German wine-growing region Franconia
, It is located between two towers of the former city wall. A hedge economy is connected. The Ruppert family has been based in Hammelburg for centuries and deals with agriculture, viticulture and fruit growing. Alfons Ruppert (1913-1998) created the basis for today's operations. Today he is led in the family association of mother Christiana and her three children Karin, as well as after their training as viticulture technicians and practical experience with winemakers in the region, Austria, Portugal, New Zealand and Australia Stefan and Matthias. An extract from the company philosophy: "With knowledge of wine, commitment and love for the job, our trained eye recognizes the needs of the vines and can meet them in a targeted manner"
The vineyards cover 7.5 hectares of vineyards in individual locations Heroldsberg
(Hammelburg). They are planted with the white varieties Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, Bacchus, Ortega, Optima and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Domina and Portugieser. The management is carried out in a natural way with income-reducing, quality-increasing measures. The wines are carefully aged. The quality pyramid comprises the stages Great Wines (late harvest to dry berry selection), Classic Francs (cabinet wines in bocksbeutel
), Franken Franken (Rotling, Rosé, light Riesling, Cuvées) and Basis Franken (estate wines in a liter bottle). Fine brandies (yeast, wine, fruit) and liqueurs are also produced. The winery is a member of the Generation Riesling association.
