The estate is located in the municipality of Leiwen (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle
, The family has been involved in viticulture for many generations. An ostrich economy is connected. The family business is owned by Klaus and Edith Berweiler. Daughter Sandra has been responsible for the cellar since her training as a winemaker. The vineyards cover four hectares of vineyards in the monastery garden (Leiwen), Rosengärtchen
(Neumagen), as well hero
(Pölich). They are mainly planted with Riesling and Pinot Noir. Particular emphasis is placed on natural management and selective harvesting of the grapes. After the grape must has been thoroughly clarified, slow, bred fermentation follows. In suitable years, noble sweet berries and ice wines are also pressed. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, brandies (pomace, mirabelle) and liqueurs (peach) are also produced.
