The winery Schäfer-Fröhlich is located in the municipality Bockenau in the German wine-growing region Near, It has been run by Hans and Karin Fröhlich in the fifth generation of the family since the early 1970s. Since the year 1996 son Tim is responsible for the wine production. The vineyards cover 21 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Felseneck and Stromberg (Bockenau), Frühlingsplätzchen and Halenberg (Monzingen), as well Felsenberg and copper mine (Schlossböckelheim). They are planted to 85% with the Riesling, and to 15% the varieties Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. The yield-reduced grapes are selectively read by hand. The wines are in steel tank spontaneous fermented and typical of the location. The product range includes estate wines, local wines and wines from VDP. Great location according to the VDP classification, The winery has been a member of the VDP (Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).
