The Schäfer-Fröhlich winery is located in the Bockenau municipality in the German wine-growing region Near, It has been managed by Hans and Karin Fröhlich in the fifth generation of families since the early 1970s. Since 1996, son Tim has been responsible for vinification. The vineyards cover 21 hectares of vineyards in individual locations Felseneck and Stromberg (Bockenau), Frühlingsplätzchen and Halenberg (Monzingen), as well Felsenberg and copper mine (Schlossböckelheim). 85% of them are planted with Riesling and 15% with Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. The yield-reduced grapes are selectively picked by hand. The wines are in steel tanks spontaneous fermented and expanded typical of the location. The product range includes estate wines, local wines and wines from VDP. Large location according to the VDP classification, The winery has been a member of the VDP (Association of German quality wine estates).
