Old gold. Firm and quite fine, clearly vegetable aroma with yellow fruity aromas, nuts, hints of yellow spice, floral hints and a touch of tobacco. Ripe, juicy fruit with nutty, tobacco and very slightly buttery aromas, again yellow spice on the palate, fine acidity and some grip, very slightly sweet melting, good persistence, some power, dried flowers and a hint of wax in the background, smoky traces, mineral hints, very good, quite firm, spicy finish. Perhaps not quite as strong as in its youth, but still very convincing.
Since the 2008 vintage, wine-legally defined DAC area (specific wine-growing region) in the Austrian wine-growing region of Lower Austria (generic wine-growing region). See under Kamptal.
