The estate is located in the community Randersacker (area Maindreieck) in the German wine-growing region
Franconia, The family has been operating viticulture in the Maindreieck for 700 years. The Randersackerer branch moved into this community in the middle of the 16th century. Since 2015 the company is run by Markus Schmachtenberger in the 12th generation. The vineyards cover nearly nine hectares of vineyards in the individual layers
Marsberg and
Sonnenstuhl (Randersacker). They are planted with the white varieties Silvaner, Riesling, Rivaner, Scheurebe, Sauvignon Blanc, Bacchus, Kerner, Pinot Blanc, Tramin and Rieslaner, as well as with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Domina and Portuguese.
On 1.5 hectares will be
Organic viticulture according to the principles of a
sustainable Viticulture practiced. The waiver
herbicides but applies to the entire vine stock. Quality criteria are careful pruning in winter, instinctual correction in spring,
thin out and selective hand picking ripe and healthy grapes. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are aged in a steel tank or in a large wooden barrel. The product range is divided into liter wines (mostly from Großlage Ewig Leben), the new franc, the classic franc and the big franc with the top wines. Every year around 60,000 bottles of wine are produced. The winery is a member of the Franconian Greenhouse and Riesling associations as well as the Franconian wine grower group ETHOS.
