2009 Wachau Ried Achleiten Riesling Smaragd® trocken, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Slightly restless nose with prominent yeasty notes, partly candied citrus fruit and stone fruit, tart herbaceous and mineral notes. Fairly juicy, slightly sweetish fruit, more prominent yeasty notes, fairly prominent green vegetal notes, lively acidity, mineral notes in the background, slightly rough, full-bodied, creamy and has good grip, very slightly rustic style, good persistence, slightly sweetish again, slightly rough with yeasty notes on an otherwise very good finish. Currently not at its peak.

Best to drink: Ende 2012 bis 2015+. What our ratings mean

Editor note: Partly preserved apples, citrus fruit and some peach on the nose, vegetal and mineral notes, hint of sugar candy and some nuts. Delicate sweetish fruit on the palate, vegetal as well as salty mineral notes, some more candied nuts in the background, elegant, fairly lively acidity, slightly spicy old oak, good persistence, medium body, has grip, hinz of tobacco, not particularly deep, spcy and veryslightly sweetish on a very good finish.
