2009 Wachau Ried Vorder Seiber Grüner Veltliner Smaragd® trocken, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Clean nose, pomaceous fruit and some citrus, vegetal and herbaceous traces. Ripe, creamy fruit on the palate, delicate sugar candy, vegetal and some very light nutty notes, very elegant acidity, full-bodied and very slightly sweetish, not particularly deep, but well made, juicy with some elegant spice as well as nutty notes on a finish that is unnecessarily sweet.

Editor note: Vegetal nose, initially rather oxidative, tart yellow fruit, light volatile and lactic notes, surprisingly becomes clearer, fresher and more complex with aeration. Slightly sweetish fruit on the palate, tart vegetal as well as light earthy notes, very creamy with noticeable alcohol, initially lacks definition, but again improves with aeration, becomes more juicy and elegant, elegant acidity, slightly sweetish and creamy again, vegetal notes and slightly noticeable alcohol on a good to very good finish.
