The winery is located in the municipality of Leimen (Badische Bergstraße area) near Heidelberg in the German wine-growing region of Baden. The traditional winery was founded in 1707 by Andres Seeger and is now run by Thomas Seeger, the 13th generation of the family. His motto or credo is "Wine must taste good. Our wines are the result of tradition and do not follow trends". The vineyards cover 9.5 hectares of vineyards in the single vineyard Herrenberg. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Auxerrois and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Black Riesling. The vineyards are cultivated according to the guidelines of organic viticulture. For quality reasons, yields are greatly reduced. Some of the red wines are aged for up to 22 months in French barriques. Depending on the quality, they are marked on the bottle label with the codes S, R, RR or RRR. The premium wines include "Grauer Burgunder Oberklamm", "Riesling Oberklamm" and "Spätburgunder GG Spermen". Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. The winery is a member of the German Barrique Forum and, since 2010, of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates)
