2016 Leimen Herrenberg Blaufränkisch Grosses Gewächs trocken Spermen "R", Baden, Germany

Light smoky, nutty, spicy oak on the nose, hint of bacon, ripe red and a few black berries, peppery spice, hint of tobacco, dried herbaceous notes, whiff of juniper, fairly prominent floral aromas and some incense. Ripe, juicy, partly preserved fruit on the palate, light smoky, toasted oak, fine youthful tannins, delicate acid bite, dried herbs and peppery spice in the background, hint of tobacco, good substance and persistence, light salty notes, still young, more otasted oak and smoked bacon on a very good tart, juicy finish.
