The estate is located in the municipality Leinsweiler (area Southern Wine Route) in the German wine-growing region palatinate
, Originally it was a mixed agricultural business with about 2.5 hectares of vineyards. The wine was sold in barrels to the local cooperative until 1975 and then bottled. The Siegrist family has been growing wine for many generations. In the meantime, a new generation of winemakers has joined the company with daughter Kerstin (graduate engineer in oenology) and son-in-law Bruno Schimpf (cellar master). The vineyards cover 14.5 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Sonnenberg
(Leinsweiler) and Mütterle (Wollmesheim), as well as in the two municipalities Eschbach and Ilbesheim. They are planted to 60% with the white varieties Riesling (25%), Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Silvaner and Pinot Gris, as well as 40% with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
It is consistently practiced environmentally friendly viticulture. The restored tithe cellar
from 1555 is now used as a barrique cellar. Thomas Siegrist is one of the innovative Palatine pioneers in the Barrique
, Every year around 100,000 bottles of wine are produced. The winery is a member of VDP
(Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter), im German Barrique Forum
