The estate is located in the commune of Leinsweiler (Südliche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region palatinate
, It was originally a mixed agricultural operation with around 2.5 hectares of vineyards. The wine was sold in casks to the local cooperative until 1975 and then bottling was introduced. The Siegrist family has been wine-growing for many generations. In the meantime, a new generation of winegrowers has worked into the company with daughter Kerstin (graduate in oenology) and son-in-law Bruno Schimpf (cellar master). The vineyards cover 14.5 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Sonnenberg
(Leinsweiler) and Mütterle (Wollmesheim), as well as in the two communities Eschbach and Ilbesheim. They are planted 60% with the white varieties Riesling (25%), Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Silvaner and Grauburgunde, and 40% with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Environmentally friendly viticulture is practiced consistently. The restored tithe cellar
from 1555 is now used as a barrique cellar. Thomas Siegrist is one of the innovative Palatinate pioneers in the Barrique
, Around 100,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. The winery is a member of VDP
(Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter), in the German barrique forum
, at the association "Five Winegrowers, Five Friends from the Southern Palatinate", as well as at the KUW (Controlled Environmentally Friendly Wine Growing)
