2016 Geisenheim Mäuerchen Spätburgunder trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Fairly tart nose, light earthy notes, hint of bacon, red and black berries, dried vegetal notes, hint of mushrooms. Ripe, fairly dark, partly preserved fruit on the palate, toasted, spicy oak, integrated sandy tannins, still slightlyastringent, touch of cocoa and coffee, good persistence, spicy notes, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, hint of burnt rubber and tarry notes in the background, slightly rustic style, slightly jammy fruit on a good to very good finish.
