2011 Spätburgunder Beerenauslese RS, Emotion, Ahr, Germany

Quite polished, tobacco, somewhat smoky and woody scent of red and black berries with earthy and delicate floral tones as well as dried herbs and bacon. Ripe, sweet fruit in the mouth, smoky and a hint of sooty oak, fairly fine, slightly astringent tannins, dried fruit notes in the background, good sustainability, lots of alcohol, some mineral notes, candied citrus notes in the background, not always deep, good, sweet and at the same time a slightly acidic finish with lots of alcohol and smoky bacon.
