Editor note: Very light hint of bacon and juniper on the nose, red and a few black berriew´s, earthy and light peppery notes, dried herbs and a hint of celery. Straightforward, tart fruit on the palate, nutty oak, hint of cocoa and pepper, fine sandy tannins, light acid bite, good persistence, toasted and smoky notes, earthy and salty mineral notes, still young and slightlyastringent, clear contours, very good, tart, mineral,finish with peppery spice and fresh vegetal notes.
Best to drink: Mid-2020-2026+

The German growing area Franconia used to be in the three areas Maindreieck, Mainviereck and Steigerwald with 23 large layers and 216 individual layers. In November 2011 a new regulation was decided by the members of the Franconian Wine Association. The three old areas will be replaced by 12 much smaller ones. In the medium to long term, these will also replace the 23 large locations. The old areas once played a role in the predominant marketing of Franconian table wine, which they had lost for a long time.
