2017 Saulheim Hölle Spätburgunder trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Cool, very slightly smoky, bacon aroma of more red than black berries with slightly spicy, toasty, tobacco and distinctly mineral tones. Firm, tart, ripe, relatively dark fruit with present, youthful tannins, tobacco, peppery and dried-vegetable notes, nutty in the background, lots of chalky and salty minerality, has grip and bite, good depth, dense and persistent, still barely developed, very good, tart, somewhat spicy finish with rather cool juice
