Editor note: Nose shows first signs of maturity, prominent vegetal notes, yellow fruit aromas, hint of honey, floral and earthy notes. Ripe, partlycandied, but also bone dry fruit on the palate, elegant acidity, veryslightly muted by tannins, earthy and chalky notes, touch of root vegetables, medium body, some persistence, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, touch of honey again on a good finish.
Best to drink: To 2020+

The German growing area Franconia used to be in the three main triangle areas, Mainviereck and Steigerwald with 23 large layers and 216 individual layers. In November 2011 a new regulation was decided by the members of the Franconian Wine Association. The three old areas will be replaced by 12 much smaller ones. In the medium to long term, these will also replace the 23 large locations. The old areas once played a role in the predominant marketing of Franconian table wine, which they had lost for a long time.
