Editor note: Earthy and prominent vegetal notes on the nose, slightly muted, yellow fruit aromas, light nutty notes, some wilted flowers, hint of petrol. Tart, firm fruit on the palate, quite full-bodied, prominent vegetal aromas, earthy and salty notes, lively acidity, noticeable, slightly rough tannins, slightly rustic style, good substance and persistence, some grip on a good to very good finish.
Best to drink: To 2023+

The German growing area Franconia used to be in the three main triangle areas, Mainviereck and Steigerwald with 23 large layers and 216 individual layers. In November 2011 a new regulation was decided by the members of the Franconian Wine Association. The three old areas will be replaced by 12 much smaller ones. In the medium to long term, these will also replace the 23 large locations. The old areas once played a role in the predominant marketing of Franconian table wine, which they had lost for a long time.
