The winery is located in the municipality Gamlitz
(Eckberg), directly on the South Styrian Wine Route in the wine-growing region südsteiermark
(Austria). It is operated by Walter Skoff in the fourth family generation. The wines are exclusively vinified by Walter Skoff and his son Joachim. The vines only grow on slopes, which means that the grapes can produce typical aromas when ripe. In 1997 a new cellar was opened, consisting of a traditional part with old hand-made bricks from the 19th century and a part with the latest technology. The vineyards cover 38 hectares of their own vineyards, for example in the vineyards Grassnitzberg
, Hochsulz (only Sauvignon Blanc) and Obegg
(6.5 ha Sauvignon Blanc, 0.5 ha Pinot Blanc) They are planted with the varieties Welschriesling, Muscat, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Zweigelt. 90% white and 10% red wines are produced in two lines. The "Classique" line stands for wines with fruitiness, although there are different types of expansion for Sauvignon Blanc and partly Chardonnay. The top line is called "Royal", these wines are aged in barriques. The flagship is the "Sauvingon Blanc Royal", which is only vinified depending on the vintage. Dried berries, noble brandies (pure pomace brandies, fruit brandies) and wine sparkling wines (Primissimo) are also produced.
