The "Wein- und Sektgut Weber" is located in the municipality of Ettenheim (Breisgau area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. A restaurant is attached. In 1950, Kosmas and Frieda Weber planted 1.5 hectares with various walnut trees. Today, the farm is run by Margot, Werner and Michael Weber. Wine tastings, vineyard walks, corporate and private events are organised.
The vineyards cover 20 hectares of vines in the single vineyard Ettenheimer Kaiserberg on deep, loamy loess soils. They are planted with the white wine varieties Pinot Gris as the main variety, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Bl anc, Scheurebe, Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, Riesling and Gewürztraminer, as well as Pinot Noir. Natural viticulture is practised. Quality criteria are reduced yields, selective harvesting and gentle processing in the cellar.
Due to the extremely late harvest time, which is common in the winery, the musts arrive cold in the cellar and ferment slowly without any intervention. After racking off the yeast, they are aged in stainless steel tanks or in barriques, depending on the desired wine type, and remain untouched until bottling. The wines are produced in three lines. These are Litre (white label), "SE" (light grey) and for the top wines Premium (dark grey). The latter are wines that can be stored for a long time, made from grapes with high minimum must weights and lowest yields by radically reducing them to a single cluster per shoot. Around 150,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. In addition, grape juice, bottle-fermented vintner's sparkling wines and noble brandies (yeast, pomace, walnut) are also produced. The winery is a member of Generatio Riesling.
