The estate is located in the community Dittelsheim -Hessloch (area Wonnegau) at the foot of the Kloppbergs in the German wine-growing region Rheinhessen
, The traditional family, originally from Austria, was first mentioned in documents in 1469. It has been involved in viticulture for many generations, as Werner Winter already planted Silvaner and Riesling vines around the year 1600. For a long time, however, the estate was a mixed farm until it was completely concentrated on viticulture in the early 1990s. The company is run today by Stefan Winter, the practical experience in the wineries Keller Klaus
(Rheinhessen) and Bassermann-Jordan
(Palatinate) could collect.
The vineyards cover 20 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Hasensprung
(Becht home), Aulerde
(Westhofen), as well as Geyersberg, Kloppberg and Leckerberg (Dittelsheim). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling, Sylvaner, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, and the red wine variety Spätburgunder.
