2009 Westhofen Kirchspiel Riesling Grosses Gewächs trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Firm, somewhat vegetal and a touch petrol-like citrus-peach scent with hints of floral and mushroomy nuances, herbal tones and clear, light minerality. Quite tightly knit, juicy, ripe, somewhat melting fruit, light nutty and again intensely mineral tones with chalk and salt, has grip and certain acid bite, lots of power, warm and cool elements, very slightly sweet in the background, remains taut and still has energy, good depth, very good to long, juicy and again very mineral finish with plenty of persistence.
