2017 Süd-Steiermark Ried Schusterberg Sauvignon Blanc Erste STK Ried trocken, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Firm, cool, still clearly yeasty, fresh citrus nose with herbal and planty aromas, a little bacon and cold smoke as well as clear mineral and sage tones. Firm, tangy, juicy fruit with bite, fresh planty aromas, a hint of strawberries and clear minerality, very slightly floral on the palate, again smoky nuances, also delicate nutty to woody tones, hinted at pepper, notes reminiscent of lemon balm, good depth, quite complex, elegant style, very good, firm, juicy, yet extremely cool finish with lots of draught. Has clearly won again since the first rehearsal

Editor note: Cool, firm nose, herbaceous notes reminiscent of sage, lemon balm and somestinging nettle, yeasty notes, delicate whiff of almonds, mountain flowers, gooseberries, some white fruit and light floral traces. Cool, light-bodied, tart fruit on the palate, firm acidity, fresh vegetal and delicate yeasty notes, firm bite, integrated fine tannins, still very slightly astringent, some elderflowers in the background, more sage and lemon balm, still totally undeveloped, clear contours, firm, tart, juicy, almost cold finish with prominent acidity.
