The wines keep constant high level and are usually the best in their respective category in the area. Weaknesses, there is little, but can occur in difficult vintages. However, this must be balanced in good years with particularly compelling assortments so that an operation can hold the status. In most cases you can blindly buy.

The winery is located in the wine town Krems in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Kremstal, The roots go back to the time of the Babenbergs, when around 1300 Albrecht I (1255-1308) entrusted twenty of his most faithful followers with farmland, riparian forests, orchards and vineyards in and around Weinzierl (now a district of Krems). The vineyards were subsequently cultivated by these "Lehnern". In 1923, these goods were divided among the individual Lehner. The company is managed by Anton Zöhrer.

The vineyards are partly well over 400 years in family ownership. They cover 20 hectares of vines on primary rock, loess and slate terraces in the vineyards Gebling, Goldberg, Galgenberg, Kaiserstiege, sandpit, Turnerberg and Weinzierlberg. They are planted with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Muscat, Sauvignon Blanc and some Traminer and the red varieties Zweigelt, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. It is practiced consistently environmentally friendly, near-natural viticulture. The premium wines include various Grüner Veltliner and Riesling wines (SAND1, Impuls, Gigant, Big Bang), as well as the Zweigelt red wines Goldberg and ADONIS. As a specialty, "natural wines" (mashed white wines such as "Magnificence" from Grüner Veltliner) and Orange Wine offered. Since 2013 also bottle-fermented, hand-shaken produces up to three years on the yeast.
