The winery is located in the municipality of Kurtinig on the Wine Route (Cortina sulla strada del vino) in the Italian wine-growing area South-Tirol
(Region Trentino-Alto Adige
). It was founded in 1970 by A. Giovanett in Neumarkt. In 1989, the management of son Günther and his wife Alessandra was taken over and moved the location to Kurtinig. Son Dipl. Ing. For viticulture and enology Ivan Giovanett is responsible for the cellar, the daughter of Ines, who also studies viticulture and enology, works in the areas of administration and sales. The vineyards cover about 50 hectares of vineyards, which extend from Salurn to Bolzano. They are about 60% with the white varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Muller-Thurgau, Pinot Bianco and Kerner, and about 40% planted with the red varieties Vernatsch, Lagrein, Pinot Nero, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are aged in steel tanks, large wooden barrels or barriques. The large product range is in the four lines Mont Mes (young wines), Classic (classic developed, varietal red and white wines), Villa Karneid (Cru wines a selected, 8-acre location in the South Tyrol Unterland) and Burgum Novum (top family best locations ).
