2006 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Lagrein Burgum Novum, Alto Adige, Italy

Partly preserved black berries on the nose, light herbs and spices, mineral notes in the background, some dark chocolate and licorice, light smoky and roasted notes. Juicy, fairly smooth fruit on the palate, prominent spicy oak, smoky notes, very fine tannins, dried vegetal notes, very full-bodied, good persistence, still youthful, more prominent oak on a good finish.
