The estate is located in the municipality of Abstatt (Württembergisch Unterland area) in the German wine-growing region Wuerttemberg, The business was founded by Eugen Wangler in 1938 as a cooperage for bulk storage barrel construction and distillery. His son Heinrich Wangler passed the master craftsman's exam in 1968 as a barrel, wine maker and cellar master. Today he is managed in the third generation of the family by Heiko Wangler, who was trained as a wine cooper and cellar master, and his wife Katja. The vineyards cover 20 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers of Burgberg (Abstatt), Dezberg (Eberstadt), Forstberg (Oberstenfeld) and Wartberg (Beilstein). They are planted with the red varieties Spätburgunder, Trollinger, Lemberger, Schwarzriesling, Dornfelder, Cabernet Mitos and Merlot, as well as with the white varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Gewürztraminer, Müller-Thurgau and Kerner. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, brandies (pomace, wine, fruit, berries) and liqueurs are also produced.
